WhatsApp Will Stop Working On Your Device From Today | Check List Now

WhatsApp crosses 2 billion active users this year across the world. For the best user experience, they introduced a plethora of features in 2020. But from today the company will withdraw updates and support for older Android and iPhones. WhatsApp will stop working on these phones because of the old OS from 1 January 2021.

WhatsApp official FAQ recommended the minimum OS requirement of smartphone devices to continue the working of Whatsapp. In the year 2020 Whatsapp has introduced many features like Dark Mode, Disappearing Messages, and an all-new WhatsApp Business for business owners.
They also introduce a flash screen with WhatsApp By Facebook Logo.

According to the WhatsApp FAQs page, WhatsApp will only work on those phones which are running in Android 4.0.3, iOS 9, and newer. All operating system which is less than these will not be compatible and Whatsapp will stop working on these phones. Facebook-owned Whatsapp still supports KaiOS 2.5.1 or you can say Jio Phones. However, Jio phones are used by limited peoples in India.

Whatsapp has ended supports for many devices at the beginning of 2020 as well. But some of those devices are still working because they have upgraded their version to the minimum OS requirement of Whatsapp. Although these devices might be got updates from Whatsapp if they update their operating systems.

Moreover, all these devices cant create any new accounts or re-verify existing ones. Most importantly they have to create back -up of their chat if they want them because old chats are not transferable from one platform to another. Whatsapp has clearly mentioned that the exporting feature is not available in Germany. In addition, if you are from Germany then you should take care of this while upgrading your phone or Whatsapp.

How To Check Your Phones Operating System Version.

In addition you want to check your android device or iPhones OS version, then here is the simple steps as per your devices.

  1. Firstly tap on the setting option of your phone and open the setting.
  2. Then tap on the About phone option.
  3. Lastly, you have to scroll down to the bottom or to the Android Version heading to find out the version of your device.

iPhone Devices
  1. Tap on the Setting option
  2. Now tap on the General option

3. Under the general option now tap on the About option to expand the details.
4. About section will show you complete details about the phone software version as shown below.

In Conclusion, if you have any of the above old devices then update it or do transfer its data to another new device. Moreover backup all your data and transfer it earlier before Whatsapp will stop working on that device.
